How to save money on your wedding

Ok, I am not stating to be an expert here, but since planning our wedding, I have picked up some tips on what aspects of saving money and where to splurge. We are also having our dream day for under £4000, so I think we are winning here.

How to save money on your wedding

An area to save on, I genuinely believe you could spend a few hundred on wedding invites easy; however, at the end of the day they are just going to end up in recycling bins. So we are going to save on invites and pick them up from Hobbycraft. £5 for a pack of 10, you can’t go wrong. Just personalise with ribbon and stickers, and nobody will mind, trust me.

This is an area we thought about saving on, £100 marks and Spencer cake and decorate with fresh fruits ourselves. We decided against this purely for ease on the day; we didn’t fancy having to rush to decorate our cake the morning of the wedding. I think we spent £120 on a cake in the end and the lady will deliver it to the venue for us. I advise shopping around as we had a vast variety of quotes.

Either DIY your own or find a single online store. We have seen an affordable personal store that does exactly what we want. It’s effortless to spend a lot of money here, and a lot of these favours may be left at the end of the day, so you don’t want to spend too much.

This is a tricky one as we are having a very intimate wedding so this may not apply for everyone. However, we were offered a deal where if we paid for a set menu and drinks package we didn’t have to pay for the venue room itself. Our drinks package has come in at £18 a head, which is a great value considering that has wine, a toast and a welcome drink.

Jewellers often have deals on when you buy two weddings rings, such as 20% off, which can save you a lot of money!

An area to splurge on for sure ( saying that mine was £100 on Asos but is everything I ever imagined) so maybe you can’t put a price on it. I would personally say save on shoes as they can’t be seen anyway, but that is up to you?

Just remember it is your day, and if you want to spend/ splurge, it is up to you. If you have any questions, let me know.
