How to get gel nails at home

With the salons closed, resulting in most of us struggling to keep up with our lash, brow and nail routines. I wanted to find a way to get gel nails from the comfort of my home. Now I’m not an expert at applying nail polish, and I haven’t got the knack of filing down ever to get the right shape. But I am pleased with the results and love the flawless, no chip colour I was able to achieve.

I’ve been using the Red Carpet Red starter kit with pro LED light to get my at-home manicure. The set contains everything you need from the LED light through to the base and topcoat and even foils to soak off your colour. I think for £69.95 it’s excellent value for money as you can use an unlimited amount of times and considering a salon gel polish can be £25.

They have a great range of pastel shades on the website which you can order in addition. I am a huge fan of Flirting with Frig and Summer glow. It’s great to see they have a range of seasonal colours, so you can create an easy Spring/Summer manicure at home.

It’s a surprisingly easy kit to follow with full instructions – so if you want nicer nails from home, this is a great option.
