Next month is my 25th birthday and I can’t quite believe I am a quarter of centry old, but feeling very greatful for the glow up and I love to reflect on things. Here’s 25 things i’ve learnt in 25 years.
From going to university 3 times, starting jobs/finishing jobs, moving homes, getting married, losing pets, loved ones, amazing travel. There’s been so much that has happened.
- Always listen to your intuition. Everything happens for a reason and I now believe that more than ever, if you have a gut feeling about something, do it. You are probably right.
- Glitter nail varnish is not worth it – ever.
- Self care is the most important thing – take time for yourself and prioritise your self and mental health above everything else.
- It’s ok to change your mind. Change it and then change it again, you can do whatever you dream of and you can stop doing whatever you don’t want too, at any time.
- You will meet people who dislike you even though you know they have no reason to. Don’t waste time trying to change their minds.
- You don’t have to have everything figured out all the time. Part of the fun is having no plan and no one else has it all figured out either.
- You will never regret money you spend on travel.
- You will also never regret moments you chose to spend at home. Netflix, your home and books are a good cure for anything.
- Be grateful – everything is a blessing and a gift.
- Work to live – don’t live to work.
- Shopping is cheaper than therapy.
- Cups of tea and Gossip Girl cure most things for me.
- Nothing in the entire world hurts more than when your nose stud gets ripped out. The pain is next level.
- It’s so important to have things to look forward too – a holiday, a Nandos, whatever makes you happy, it really keeps you going.
- Always let someone else do your eyebrows.
- If you stop for a day, a week, a month. The world will not stop and move on without you, you can take time off without missing out on oppitunities.
- Life is really too short, not too eat the food you love.
- Workout when you want too not when you need too.
- Delicate more time and energy into the things you love – the passions that give you a warmth in your soul, follow that and never stop following it.
- You never too old to go to Disneyland, eat spaghetti hoops or watch Tangled. ok?
- That at any given time, some of your best ever days haven’t even happened yet!
- My wedding was not the best day of my life – and I didn’t expect it to be.
- Red lipstick will always make you feel a girl boss.
- The airport passport E-gates will never not be terrifying.
- Money really does not matter – as long as you have a roof over your head, food on the table and can place an occasional Asos order – you have everything you need.
